Temperament

If you want to buy a Cavachon puppy, it’s smart to do a little research first. This is a breed that was developed from two lap dog breeds, so they definitely have all the traits of a good cuddler. They are extremely affectionate and need lots of attention to stay calm and centered. These pups like all kinds of people. They are loving dogs who are loyal to families, but they are easygoing, accepting, and even friendly with complete strangers.

The Cavachon is a playful breed. While they don’t need lots of vigorous outdoor exercise every day, a short daily walk will keep them happy. They enjoy games and interaction and long for attention. Snuggling, gentle wrestling, tug-of-war, and fetch are favorite pastimes. They are a willing and tolerant playmate for children and will follow family members around for hours. They also enjoy the company of other dogs and pets.

Health

If you’re considering adopting a Cavachon puppy, make sure you understand this breed’s health considerations. The average lifespan of this breed is 11-15 years, although longer lifespans are common. Blocked tear ducts are common, so watch for issues and make sure to gently wipe your pup’s eyes each day with a clean, damp cloth.

Because this is a relatively new breed, the data on health issues is insufficient. However, some health concerns to watch for are:
