Labradoodle - Miniature Puppies for Sale
Overview
The Mini Labradoodle is one of the most popular designer breeds in America, but this breed started in Australia. The term first appeared in 1955 but was not popularized until 1988, when a member of The Royal Guide Dog Association in Victoria formalized the breed and designated it as an allergy-friendly guide dog.
While any mix of a Labrador and Mini Poodle may be called a Mini Labradoodle, not all dogs of this breed are hypoallergenic. To ensure your pup will not trigger allergies, look for an F1b mix. This breed is 75% Mini Poodle and 25% Labrador.
They are popular pets because of their intelligence, loyalty, and attractive appearance. The Miniature Labradoodle is recognized by the ACHC (American Canine Hybrid Club) and can be registered through IDCR (International Designer Canine Registry) and ICA (International Canine Association, Inc).

Temperament
The Miniature Labradoodle is intelligent, active and fun loving. This mix of Poodle and Labrador inherits many signature traits, including great loyalty, a social nature, and the need for lots of vigorous exercise.
Make sure you spend lots of active outdoor time with your Mini Labradoodle to keep them calm and centered. This breed embraces its retriever lineage and usually enjoys playing fetch.
These smart pups love attention and are eager to please, which makes them relatively easy to train. They respond well to an affectionate approach to training.
The Mini Labradoodle makes a great family dog. This pup loves children and is comfortable around strangers. This breed also does well around other dogs.
Health
All mixed breed dogs have a better chance of having fewer health concerns because of their genetic diversity. However, because both Poodles and Labrador Retrievers are prone to hip dysplasia and cataracts, a Mini Labradoodle may be at risk of developing one or both of these conditions. Some Mini Labradoodles occasionally develop allergies and sensitive skin.
Because weight is more likely to exacerbate hip dysplasia, monitor your pup’s weight carefully. Because this breed can have eye issues, it’s important to gently wipe the area around his eyes each day to remove any small bits of crust or buildup. Take your pup to the vet if you see cloudiness.
Food allergies are also more common in this breed, so watch your dog’s diet. If your dog shows signs of itchy or dry skin, check with your vet to see if your pup has allergies. If your puppy is vomiting or has diarrhea, call your vet immediately.
All breeds of dogs should be brought in for regular vet checkups. It’s important for every type of dog to stay current on all shots and vaccinations.
Coat & Coat Care
A Mini Labradoodle’s coat can be curly, and non-shedding, similar to the Poodle. They can also be short, dense, and sometimes harsh in texture, more similar to the Labrador.
Brushing 2 – 3 times weekly will help prevent tangling, and matting. Because matting can irritate skin, it’s important to minimize matting on your curly-coated dog. If the Miniature Labradoodle has predominant Lab features, they will tend to shed a little. Brushing more frequent during those times will help maintain a healthy coat.
